From quiet country roads to purpose-designed cycle ways, more routes are opening up for local and visitor use. Pedal along the peaceful and pretty off-road cycle routes - Conkers Circuit or Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail.

Leicestershire cycle routes

Leicestershire County Council's website details cycle routes that use well surfaced easy to follow pathways through the countryside of Leicestershire and Rutland.

Staffordshire cycle routes

Staffordshire County Council has produced cycle maps for each district in Staffordshire.

Derbyshire cycle routes

Visit Peak District & Derbyshire has a number of routes with maps which are also available to download for use in a Global Positioning System (GPS).

Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail

The 5.7km Heritage Trail runs along the former Ashby and Nuneaton Joint Railway Line from the old station at Measham to Spring Cottage to join the B5004 and the Conkers Circuit.

The Conkers Circuit

For those wanting a gentle cycle ride, a family walk, a wildlife ramble or a daily jog, the four and a half mile Conkers Circuit is ideal for all ages with easy to follow circuit markers and shorter loops within it.
