The stunning 2020VISION street gallery exhibition has arrived in Swadlincote, after months of planning. It is a privilege to have worked with all our partners to bring it here. Swadlincote in South Derbyshire, part of The National Forest, is an inspired location for the English premiere of a major nature and wildlife photographic exhibition, and the locals are fascinated. As they walk through the centre of the town, shoppers and business people see The Delph Market Square transformed into a magnificent street gallery, packed with over 100 stunning images by some of the top wildlife and landscape photographers in the UK.

Students from Burton & South Derbyshire College have been invited to stage an exhibition of their work in the new gallery at Sharpe's Pottery Museum in March. It will coincide with the arrival in Swadlincote of the 2020VISION roadshow, which features some of the finest wildlife and nature photographers in the country.

Headline act comedian and actor Alistair McGowan planted the first tree in Comedy Wood, a new woodland in The National Forest, outside Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire, this week.

This statement includes the Government's response to the Independent Panel on Forestry, set up after the consultation on the public forestry estate which ended in massive opposition for any 'sell off' of the public forest. Its publication seems to mark the calming, at least, of a pretty turbulent time in forestry policy for England.
