Summary

Foremark is a nature reserve managed in partnership by the National Trust and Severn Trent. The 280-acre site includes many varied habitats including woodland, lowland heath, open countryside and open water, in the rolling Derbyshire countryside. From the wide views around the reservoir to fascinating woodland walks, and a multi-use bridleway, Foremark will be enjoyed by families, walkers and nature enthusiasts alike. Although man-made, the reservoir boasts a rich diversity of wildlife with more than 200 species of birds, 27 species of butterflies and 300 species of moths recorded on site. Geology enthusiasts should make sure to see Carvers Rocks; a site of special scientific interest, known for its important geology and plants.  

If you fancy trying your hand at sailing or windsurfing, Burton Sailing Club offers a range of family friendly water sports for you to enjoy.

Foremark reservoir is a great place to enjoy a variety of walks through woodland and access onto the National Forest Way, which extends over 75 miles from Staffordshire to Leicestershire.
