Leave a legacy

Leave a legacy

Leaving a legacy to the Forest can help us to continue to create a Forest for everyone. Making it more accessible, thriving with wildlife and benefiting generations for years to come.

A gift in your will

Leaving a gift in your will helps us to continue to care for trees, create habitats for wildlife, and create places for  people to enjoy and for future generations to come. Every gift made to the National Forest makes a huge difference in helping us to create a greener future for everyone.

Types of gifts

There are three main types of gifts that people can leave in their will: a pecuniary gift, a residuary gift, or a specific legacy. A pecuniary gift is a specific sum of money. A residuary gift is made from whatever is left in your estate after all debts and bills have been paid, and all specific and non-specific gifts have been distributed. You can donate either a share or all of this residue. And a specific legacy is a particular item left in a will, such as a piece of jewellery. We are sometimes able to accept gifts of land if within the boundary of the National Forest. Please contact us to discuss further.

What your gift could mean?

Every gift in every will, no matter how small, helps us to continue to grow the Forest. By leaving an unrestricted gift, we can direct your money to where it will have the most impact. However we understand that there might be an area of our work particularly close to your heart so please do get in touch as we'll be happy to discuss this.
