Summary
Melbourne Hall Gardens are a feast for the senses with broad sweeps of lawn, avenues and unexpected vistas. The gardens were planned in the early 18th century and there have been few radical alterations since, making them one of the best surviving examples.
Children will love scampering through the yew tunnel and discovering the elaborate wrought iron ‘birdcage’ structure created in the early 1700s. Keen gardeners will enjoy the unusual specimen trees, shrubs and herbaceous borders and the whole family will love the space and freedom to enjoy nature.
Melbourne Hall opens its doors to visitors each August and you get a fascinating opportunity to see inside the exquisite rooms of this family stately home. Live music and comedy events are held at the hall throughout the spring and summer.
