Summary

A local nature reserve established on a site of former mining subsidence, Saltersford Valley contains oak, ash, cherry, hazel, guelder rose and dogwood plantings to form a native woodland. Open grassland areas are being managed as traditional hay meadows with wild flowers.

On the banks of the lake are fishing platforms for disabled anglers and a board walk gives access across part of the lake. The seven-hectare reserve features two wooden sculptures on the theme of fishing, sculpted by Simon Todd and chosen by local people.
