Who we are

Established in 1995, the National Forest Company is responsible for leading the creation of the National Forest, working in partnership with public, private, voluntary and community sectors to deliver and champion the shared vision.

About the charity

We are a charitable company overseen by a board of trustees, as well as being an Arm’s Length Body of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). We are funded by grants, donations and trading, in addition to funds we receive from Defra, our sponsor department.

Our people

People have always been at the heart of what we do, and that's why we've built a collaborative, passionate and determined team, who are growing the vision and inspiring action.

Our governance

We understand the importance of good governance, openness and accountability in all that we do. This is reflected in the way we are run, our compliance and use of funds.

Our values

We believe trees are transformational and that everyone should have access to the benefits of the natural world. These beliefs form our values which we use to benchmark our work.
