Summary

Many days out in the National Forest are about seeing native species of animals, trees and plants, but at Twycross Zoo you can see animals from across the globe. An award-winning conservation charity, the zoo is set in 80 acres of habitat and is home to around 500 animals including almost 100 species of bigger animals. As a World Primate Centre, Twycross Zoo has a wide range of apes and monkeys including the UK’s only group of bonobos. So, whether you want to see creepy crawlies or mighty rhino, they are in the zoo’s expert care.

As well as all the animals, Twycross Zoo has another adventure for the family to enjoy – the Gruffalo Discovery Land. Take a journey through the deep dark wood and as well as seeing all your favourite characters from the Gruffalo books, you will get the chance to meet real-life owls, snakes and butterflies.

With a range of restaurant, café and kiosk choices there are plenty of places for a pit stop and the gift shop has a wide range of wildlife-themed gifts for all the family.
